About the job
What’s the role?

This role exists to optimise, write and amplify evergreen content for organic search and generative search platforms. The SEO, AI & Generative Search Producer will play a crucial role in the creation and optimisation of shoppable content across publications including news.com.au, Taste, Escape, Body+Soul and more.

In this role, you will work closely with the Audience & SEO Director and eCommerce writers to drive organic search traffic and revenue. Using SEO, AI and editorial best practices, you will produce and optimise shoppable content to attract new high-intent audiences. Collaborative and a clear communicator, you will work closely with the commercial and partnerships teams to ensure content aligns with revenue strategies.

This is a fulltime, permanent position based in our Surry Hills, Sydney office (next to Central station). Hybrid working is available with 3 days work from office required.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop content pipelines aligned to monthly roadmaps and tentpole shopping event to drive off-platform audience growth
- Work with writers to produce audience-first content for emerging search markets (Google Discover, SearchGPT, AI Overviews), providing copy editing and review.
- Collaborate with editorial and product teams to optimise content to meet SEO, LLM, LSI and AI requirements from Google, Bing and OpenAI
- Provide insights and recommendations on trending search topics to drive content creation and engagement.
- Report on the effectiveness of SEO and AI search content strategies, providing actionable insights for future campaigns to stakeholders.
- Conduct content audits to: address article templates for SEO & AI; reduce article cannibalisation; optimise for network syndication; and develop areas of topical authority
- Collaborate with Tech Partnerships, Social, Marketing, and Commercial teams to identify opportunities for traffic and revenue growth.

Who are you?

- Proven track record in creating content that grows audiences and drives traffic from organic search
- Familiarity with search engine optimization (SEO) practices
- Eagerness to learn about generative search and emerging platforms
- Agile and open to adopting new technologies and tools with a test and learn approach
- Previous experience with mass media publications is an advantage, but not required
