As we continue to specialise our offering, a new opportunity has opened up for a SEO Specialist to join our crew. This role plays a crucial part in advancing Urban List’s mission to become the #1 destination for culture seekers who live like it matters. You will serve as Urban List’s primary SEO subject matter expert, maximising the visibility and reach of its guides and recommendations across search channels, and thereby growing its reputation as a trusted compass for those seeking confidence in their buying and booking choices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop and implement SEO strategies aligned with Urban List's audience and business goals
- Conduct keyword research and optimises on-page elements (meta tags, headings, content)
- Implements on-page SEO best practices, focusing on site architecture and internal linking strategies
- Analyse website performance and provides data-driven recommendations
- Design and executes effective backlink strategies to improve domain authority
- Stay updated on SEO best practices and algorithm changes
- Lead the team to identify ways to capitalise on emerging search trends, e.g. social search and chat
- Identify high-performing, high-value organic pages for potential paid promotion
- Assist editors to deploy Conversion Rate Optimisation best practices to super-serve high-intent users with opportunities to transact through affiliate content

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

- On-page SEO: Expertise in optimising content, meta tags, headers, and URL structures
- Off-page SEO: Understanding of backlink strategies, outreach, and link-building techniques, such as through engaging influencers and social creators
- Keyword research: Proficiency in using SEMrush and Google tools to identify relevant keywords and search intent
- Analytics and reporting: Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Semrush for tracking and analysing content performance. Ability to dissect competitor strategies and identify opportunities to win greater share of search and authority in key verticals
- A/B testing and experimentation: Ability to methodically implement regular tests and analyse results to determine the most effective SEO strategies
- Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO): Faculty to interpret data to improve on-site elements and user experience, leading to higher conversion rates
- A sound understanding of technical SEO and ability to confidently identify and implement site changes required
- Experience building and managing a freelance network and/or executing SEO campaigns on large-scale websites
- Passion for cultural trends and lifestyle: Empathy with the culture-seeking audience Urban List serves and a passion for lifestyle content
- Project management: Organisational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including content creators, developers, and marketers
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of SEO and digital publishing
